7 Bra Styles Every Woman Should Own

Bras have upgraded in styles and their function since their invention. Clothing stores have different bras for different breast sizes, shapes, lifestyles etc. The days of not being able to wear an outfit or not having the right type are long gone. Some women still find it difficult to find that perfect type of bra for your breast size and type. If you are one of those women, here are some bra types and styles that you can wear comfortably with different outfits:

  1. Push up bra
This type of bra gives your breasts a boost by pushing them inwards and upwards, with the help of angled cups and padding. Push up bras are designed to enhance your cleavage and are usually worn with dresses and low-cut tops. These types of bras are good for all breast shapes and sizes.
  2. Strapless bra
They support the breasts with an underwire and from the silicone or rubber lining to prevent slippage. Some strapless bras also have molded cups to help keep the breasts in shape. Strapless bras are good for suitable for every wardrobe. They can be worn with off shoulder dresses or tops. Make sure that the bra properly supports your breasts and does not cause spillage or gaping in the cups or the underwire doesn’t dig into the chest causing marks.
  3. Balconette bra
These types of bras provide a subtle lift to enhance your breasts’ cleavage and shape. Balconette bras can be worn with regular dresses and are also ideal for low-cut tops. They are suitable for all breast shapes and can be a perfect fit for fuller cup sizes.
  4. Bralette
They bra types come without wires and can have straps that are thin and lacy. While they are great for comfort and coverage, they don’t offer much when it comes to support. Bralettes can be worn under a tank top. However, these bras can also be worn visibly either alone or with a revealing top. Bralettes are best for smaller breast sizes because of the minimal support.
  5. Full coverage bra
These types of bras are all about support and comfort, which makes them suitable for bigger breasts that naturally need extra coverage. Full coverage bras have a sturdy underwire and curvier-hugging fabric. They are great for everyday, go-to bra as you can wear them with t-shirt, pantsuits or any other type of dress.
  6. Bandeau bra
These are small tube-tops that just cover your breasts. Bandeau Bras is a strip of cloth that you pull on and come without hooks, straps, or cups. They are a good type of bras to be worn under strapless tops and dresses and in some cases can be even used as a top itself. Bandeau bras are good all breast shapes but with smaller breast sizes. Since they offer little support, they might not be the best types for bigger breast sizes.
  7. Sports bra
Designed to minimize breast movement during physical activity, sports bra offer different levels of compression and support. They come in three types: light, medium, and high impact, depending in the level of physical activity.
